After listening to Sharons presentation I need to clarify what I believe she wants us to do for the assignment. I need to get this organised before the week-end as I will have limited access to the internet as I mentioned I will be travelling to Adelaide (family reasons) and would like to have my part of the assignment well on its way Mxo (if possible maybe able to catch up in Adelaide)
1. We have established a student cohort (well done)
2. Craft a question? Still unsure what our question is - Could we do something along the lines of 'What are the planets of the solar system?'
3. Plan a sequence of four lessons (we don't have to plan lessons, the objective is the procedure of what the students are doing integrating ICT across the learning
sequence following on from our inquiry-based question.
4. Provide a list of ICT resources (we have a page of resources - fantastic)
Rationale
5. Describe how we will use each of the resources to enhance student learning.
6. Reflect on why these resources are appropriate for our student cohort
7. Reflect on the implications of learning for teaching practice
My understanding is that we need to include these 7 points into our assignment.
We have made a start and well done - I guess I am starting to panic a little as I need to know that we are all on the same page if possible it would be great to organise another chat session just to clarify everyones thoughts and how we are all progressing so as to give each other feedback. Let me know what you all think =O) hope to hear from you real soon Mxo Hi we are chatting on thurs at 8.30 again and i hope you read my posts on the homepage lol Tara
Hi Mary, Tara and Kim, this was my understanding from the presentation too, Mary. I have added some bits to the cohort page, see if they fit within your thoughts. I was thinking maybe we could use one of NASA's videos of a rocket going into space to link with how we found out about the planets, there is also a good site about spacesuits which provides info about why they are worn. Maybe we could assign each pair of students a planet to work on and how they are going to find out about it. What they found on the planet etc, once the students have found their info they could create a powerpoint slide to form a whole class slide show about the planets and their trips into space etc. What do you think, does this make it a bit easier. I'm just thinking how I'd approach a project like this if I was a grade 1/2. Fiona
Fantastic Fiona, this is sorta how I envisaged it 2: way to go, now to get some feedback from Kim and Tara. Talk Thursday @ 9pm Mxo
